A Cookie Story

When bank founders, J. Wes Strange and Bill Jones, first opened Branson Bank for business in a modest mobile banking unit on the construction site of the first bank location on Hwy. 248, they wanted to offer a sweet treat to first-time customers. Every morning, they picked up an assortment of cookies from a local bakery to say thank you from the new community bank in town.

In 2003, the Board of Directors made the decision to seek consultation from a marketing firm to solidify the young bank’s branding efforts. After weeks of strategy and affirmation of mission and vision, the marketing firm scheduled a meeting to unveil their proposal. On the very first slide of the presentation was the warm, chocolate chip cookie.

Why a chocolate chip cookie? It is timeless. The simplicity and comfort of a warm, chocolate chip cookie can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The aroma of fresh-baked cookies as it permeates the air offers an inviting feeling for those that walk through our front doors. As they enter, they receive a feeling of warmth, friendliness… of HOME. In addition, the cookie is a vehicle that opens doors. A bakery bag of our cookies can offer a warm welcome to new friends and neighbors, while also sending congratulations to a family who purchased their first home.

After years of enjoyment, the bank has become known as the “cookie bank.” The simple gesture of a giving a warm, chocolate chip cookie combined with excellent service and nimble decision-making has helped build a solid reputation within the community.

Our response to those who ask, ‘do you really serve cookies every day at the bank?’

The answer, “Yes, every day. Come on in – have a cookie.”
More Than A Logo

The greatest legacies start as stories…

Those stories become symbols – visible signs of a dream that has come to fruition but continues to reinvent itself to strengthen its foundation. For Branson Bank, a community bank headquartered in Branson, Missouri, the decision to update its logo after two decades in 2022 was not taken lightly. With a foundation built on values, integrity, and service, the people of Branson Bank handled the brand refresh with special care to ensure that the logo is a visual representation of precisely who they are and strive to be. Today, they share their logo story.

Branson Bank – A Logo Story.

The new Branson Bank logo includes its name and a double-b monogram, which is symbolic in every way. The monogram, two lowercase b’s, represents “small business.” The community bank focuses its efforts on serving the small communities in which its associates live and providing quick decision-making and creative solutions for area small businesses.

The left blue line represents the Bank’s Shareholder: the people who believe in the bank enough to have “skin in the game.” They are the cheerleaders, its biggest fans, and serve as the financial support beam to the Bank’s overall success.

The right blue line represents the Colleagues: the heartbeat of the organization. These professionals are the experts who are willing to go above and beyond for their friends and neighbors.

And who do the shareholders and colleagues come together to serve? The solid grey line represents their Customers: area businesses and families who have put their faith in the growing financial institution.

Through good times and challenging times, Branson Bank considers their customers as family. The central blue circle represents Community: the people and businesses who live and work together, a community that shares similar values. Whether it is honoring our nation’s veterans or supporting area schools, Branson Bank’s mission is to help the community prosper.

You may notice the lines at the top of the monogram are not enclosed. Why leave that part of the logo open, seemingly unfinished? Actually, there is nothing unfinished about it. As a Christian organization, Branson Bank makes all their decisions with guidance from above, living by the “Golden Rule,” treating others every day how they want to be treated.

Branson Bank may look a little different these days, but it is still the hometown bank that strives to make its community a better place every day. Still the bank that treats you like family. Still a place where the smiles that welcome you are as warm as the chocolate chip cookies. Still the bank that started with a simple dream and became a strong, financial institution built on relationships of trust, a bank that delivers creative, affordable, financial solutions to its community.
