Branson High School Students Participate in Internship Program
March 08, 2018
For the second year, Branson Bank has partnered with Branson High School to support the school’s internship program. The Internship Program at Branson High School worked with over 40 area businesses to help sponsor over 100 graduating seniors in multiple areas of interest.
“Our goal is to create opportunities for students to observe their chosen career path in the workplace. This experience should prepare them to visualize their educational return on investment,” stated Julie Baker, BHS English Teacher. “To our community business partners who have donated your time and resources to our students, we are grateful.”
Two seniors, Alexis Ramirez and Zach Johnston, joined Branson Bank to observe the Marketing and Commercial Lending Departments. Ms. Ramirez shadowed Halley Fleming, Vice President/ Director of Marketing, witnessing first-hand what it is like to plan, budget, and produce in a marketing department that coordinates campaign management, event planning, business development, and community outreach. Mr. Johnston visited with Branson Bank Executive Vice President, Dean Harmon and Senior Vice President, Greg Baker, to review bank lending practices, management, and business development planning.
“Branson Schools has created a once in a lifetime opportunity for their students with this internship program,” stated Halley Fleming, VP/ Director of Marketing, Branson Bank. “Students like Alexis and Zach will be able to make an informed decision towards choosing a future career path. We are proud of these seniors and know that they have bright futures ahead of them.”
