On Thursday, October 10th, The Skaggs Foundation hosted their quarterly Lunch & Learn sponsored by Branson Bank. As the sponsor of the event, Branson Bank’s CEO, Bill Jones, was introduced and he briefly discussed the values that the bank upholds while helping the community when needs arise. Specifically, as it pertains to the event, the bank’s fraud team has started working with area law enforcement to help share about current scam tactics that criminals use to better share these activities with the community to build awareness.
The guest speakers of the Lunch & Learn were Rebecca Mullen, AVP-Chief Compliance Officer, Branson Bank, a Certified Fraud Officer and Stone County Sheriff, Doug Radar. Mullen provided tips to avoid fraud, along with examples of current scams. Radar shared some recent fraudulent activity that he has seen and what efforts have been made in helping victims try and regain stolen money.
