Elevate Branson Announces Hope Village Grant Funding

On June 7th, area leaders along with Missouri Governor Mike Parsons gathered to hear an announcement from Elevate Branson regarding additional funding for their Hope Village Project. Elevate Community’s, Hope Village, is a project estimated to cost $2.1M. Elevate Community will consist of 48 individual homes, auto shop, vocational studio, and community center that will provide clean, safe, stable, and affordable housing in Branson.
Governor Mike Parsons provided an update, stating that his core priorities as Governor include infrastructure and transportation. Affordable housing and workforce development are essential pieces to these core initiatives, and he was excited to see organizations, “…helping provide a hand up, not a hand out.”
Mary Rajek, State of Missouri, Department of Economic Development spoke on behalf of the $1.9M Community Block Grant in which will cover infrastructure, including water, sewer, and electric for the project. She provided information regarding the grant process and where the funds derived.
Bill Jones, President/ CEO of Branson Bank explained that the $1 Million Federal Housing Grant, sponsored by Branson Bank, through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines’ Affordable Housing Program, will provide the necessary funding to purchase twenty-four (24), 400 square foot homes to complete Phase One of the project. Branson Bank, as the Member Financial Institution, is required to act as the nominating party and will play the fiduciary role by allocating funds, ensuring accountability, and supporting need.
