Back To School Shoe Collection Benefits Area Kids – September 10, 2020

September 10, 2020

The weeks leading up to the start of a school year can be exciting while shopping for school supplies and new clothing, which helps boost a child’s confidence while preparing them for educational success. For many families in our community, even before the pandemic, the ability to purchase required supplies, clothing or shoes, just isn’t an option.

With the help of their kid’s program mascot, CHIP, Branson Bank coordinated a Back-To-School shoe collection to help kids start the school year on the right foot! During the months of July and August, the local bank enlisted the support of their associates, customers, and the community in an effort to collect new shoes for the kids who attend the Branson, Reeds Spring, and Forsyth units of the Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks.

“It is always a pleasure to partner with the Boys & Girls Club, in this case providing kids, those who need it most, with a brand new pair of shoes as they embark on a new school year,” said Bill Jones, President/CEO at Branson Bank.

On Friday, September 4th, over 100 pair of new shoes were delivered to the Boys & Girls Club. Club Unit and Program Directors gathered to divide up the shoes while sharing stories of immediate need, a distribution plan, and an excitement knowing that they get to witness BIG smiles in the coming days.

“Every pair of shoes will make an immediate impact on the life of a Club kid; they won’t collect dust on a shelf,” said Patrick Stewart, Operations Director of the Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks. “We are grateful for area partners like Branson Bank who continue to support the Club’s mission even through difficult times.”

The Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks is a non-profit, youth development organization dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging, positive self-esteem, and accomplishment in kids via three Club units located in Branson, Forsyth, and Reeds Spring.
