Lending a Helping Hand to those in Joplin

In the aftermath of the tornadic devastation in Joplin on Sunday night, the Branson community has made great efforts to send support to our Missouri neighbors to the West.  Branson Bank has focused on helping provide locations where individuals can drop off donations, monetary and material in nature, to be further distributed to collection agencies heading to Joplin.

“When something like this happens, we try to help streamline collection efforts for individuals in the community,” said June Middleton, Senior VP.  “In some cases, our locations are more accessible and we can assist in distributing items and monetary donations to area organizations on their behalf.”

On Monday, the Branson Chamber sent out a request for bottled water that would be taken directly to Joplin via ServiceMaster Restoration.  Branson Bank purchased over 30 cases of water to aid those collection efforts.  See photo below: Lyndi Carnelison and Halley Fleming help unload cases of water to be sent to Joplin.

There are many ways to get involved and help with the crisis in Joplin.  Below are several website links to Hometown Daily News here in Branson, and the Branson Chamber’s Website.

Additionally, Branson Bank staff will be assisting the Non-Profit Organization, Jesus Was Homeless on May 28th and 29th as they do what they do best- feed people, hug, love on, and pray with people. We plan to cook and serve the EMS Volunteers and victims of the tornado. They are still in need of donations, monetary or supplies, for 2,000 hamburger patties, 1,000 hot dogs, 3,000 buns, and chips. Please contact Amy Stallings at 335-0266 if you can help us, help others in Joplin. An account has been set up at Branson Bank by Jesus Was Homeless to aid in Joplin relief efforts.

If you are looking to help in any way, feel free to call Lyndi Carnelison, Community Relations Coordinator at Branson Bank: 417-334-9696 and we will connect you with local support organizations helping with the crisis in Joplin.  Thank you for your helping hearts, hands, and dollars.
